A comprehensive chiropractic consultation, examination and evaluation including any necessary tests performed to further help determine the precise cause of your problem.
Here’s what you can expect:
The Consultation: A Detailed Health History
- To start, one of our Chiropractic Assistants will tell you a brief history of who we are and what we do in our office.
- Next, one of our exam specialists will go over your health history, focusing on your specific health concerns.
- They will then ask you a series of questions to help determine the cause of your health concerns.
A one-on-one consultation with our doctor will be done to discuss your health issues and goals, uncover the layers of past damages done and to help determine what may be the cause.
The doctor will advise you if additional laboratory tests or x-rays are needed.
The Postural Evaluation:
After reviewing your health history, the Doctor will then perform a Postural Examination and other tests to determine any abnormalities in the spine. At this time, he will take a detailed look at your spine and may have you perform a series of tests.
- Bend forward, sideways, or backwards - Misaligned spinal vertebrae can sometimes be detected during this exercise.
- Postural Evaluation
Next, a short physical exam by the chiropractor will involve palpation, or use of the hands, to explore the alignment of your spine and other structures, as well as provide information on any stimuli that may cause pain
The Comprehensive Spinal Examination: Subluxation Station
Our Exam specialist will perform a Comprehensive Spinal Examination with our Subluxation Station to determine abnormalities in the nervous system and the amount of stress in the muscles caused by misalignments in the spine. This shows how the misalignments are detrimentally affecting the autonomic nervous system and therefore affect your organ function.
Report of Findings:
After your exams, you will be asked to schedule a special follow-up appointment called the “Report of Findings” at which time the cause of your current condition will be discussed. Generally speaking, patients are seen within 1-2 days. After reviewing your case, the doctor will decide if you will be accepted as a patient and a thorough explanation of care recommendations and the action steps you need to take to obtain the results you desire. At the Report of Findings, Dr. Courtley will be going over:
- What's causing your condition
- How it's affecting your health right now
- What the initial requirements are for being accepted as a patient
- What the initial cost will be
For those reasons, you MUST have your spouse or significant other at the report to be involved in the decisions that you will need to make.
